Brain Surgery Care

A guide on what to expect before, during, and after a craniotomy/craniectomy procedure

My name is Jennifer Reavis and I am a medical student at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. I decided to create this website to share the tips and lessons my family and I learned after my mother was suddenly diagnosed with a meningioma in December of 2020. Unfortunately, she had multiple complications that led to three brain surgeries in the course of nine months. During this time, we learned tricks for before surgery, during, and after that not only made it easier, but expedited her recovery. It is the hope of myself, my mom, and my family that this website becomes a resource for other families going through similar experiences and that we are able to alleviate some of the stress that goes along with brain surgery.
